3. How We Use Your Data

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your book content to train our own AI models.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar law applies, we process your data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interest (to secure and improve the Service), legal obligation (for example, tax and accounting records), and consent (where applicable, such as optional marketing communications).

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data and project content within a reasonable time, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (such as payment records, for accounting and tax purposes).

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Cookies and Local Storage

NicheQuill uses your browser's local storage to keep you logged in (storing your session token) and does not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our payment providers (Stripe, WarriorPlus) may set their own cookies during checkout, governed by their respective privacy policies.

11. AI Processing of Your Content

To generate your books, covers, and metadata, the text and prompts you provide (topic, genre, audience, and similar project details) are sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, for processing. Please avoid entering sensitive personal data about yourself or third parties into your project details beyond what is necessary for your book's content.

12. Children's Privacy

NicheQuill is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page.
